Construction Estimator (High-End Residential) – Remote

Overview

Our client, a full-service design & build home renovation firm based in NYC , is seeking a Construction Estimator to support high-end residential projects.

This is a full-time, back-end estimating role focused on reviewing plans, performing takeoffs, and delivering accurate bid packages. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise and operate with a high level of independence, critical thinking, and attention to detail .

Primary Function

The primary function of this role is to analyze architectural and design plans, perform quantity takeoffs, and produce accurate project estimates to support bidding and project planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review architectural drawings and interior design plans in detail
  • Perform accurate quantity takeoffs for high-end residential projects
  • Develop and compile comprehensive cost estimates and bid packages
  • Apply critical thinking and problem-solving to interpret incomplete or complex plans
  • Collaborate with the NYC-based team to align on scope, pricing, and timelines
  • Process bid sets efficiently to support next-day review cycles
  • Maintain organized documentation of estimates, assumptions, and revisions
  • Support continuous improvement of estimating processes and workflows

Required Qualifications

  • 2–8 years of experience in construction estimating (residential preferred)
  • Strong experience with:
  • Procore
  • Bluebeam
  • Planswift
  • Proven ability to perform detailed takeoffs and cost analysis
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple estimates simultaneously
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with high-end or luxury residential projects
  • Familiarity with:
  • Revit
  • AutoCAD
  • Rhino
  • Bilingual (English + Spanish)
  • Experience working with design-build firms

Role Details

  • Full-time, remote position
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (flexible);  The role demands availability for weekend/overtime work during peak periods to meet tight client deadlines. Project-based schedule.
  • Must provide ~ 3 hours of overlap with NYC team (EST) for collaboration
  • Flexible/off-cycle hours encouraged to allow overnight bid processing for next-day review
