About the Role
We are expanding our National Agent Channel and seeking a high-integrity, competitive Outbound Business Development Representative to join our team led by our National Agent Channel Lead.
This is a high-volume, phone-based appointment setting and agent onboarding seat. You will be making outbound calls to independent insurance agents and agency owners across the United States for two primary purposes:
- Setting up product demos for senior channel leaders to walk agents through the platform.
- Guiding agency owners and producers through completing their quick online appointment/registration paperwork so they can start offering the brand.
Culture, Integrity & Growth
- Integrity First: Absolute honesty and radical accountability are mandatory. We perform regular call audits and quality spot-checks; tracking your numbers accurately and being truthful in your reporting is non-negotiable.
- We Teach Skill, You Bring Will: Prior insurance experience is not required. We provide comprehensive product and sales training. What we cannot teach is drive, persistence, and competitive energy.
- Crawl, Walk, Run Approach: We set you up for long-term success with structured onboarding and support.
- Uncapped Career Growth: We do not bottleneck top talent. High performers in this role can rapidly grow into running full end-to-end sales demos, channel management, or operational leadership roles.
Key Responsibilities
1. Outbound Prospecting & High-Volume Outreach
- High-Volume Dialing: Conduct daily outbound phone calls targeting independent US insurance agencies, agency owners, and producers.
- Pitch & Hook Delivery: Articulate the value of the brand's specialized jewelry insurance, delivering a compelling hook that prompts interest.
- Appointment Setting: Qualify interested agency leads and schedule live product demos directly.
2. Agent Onboarding & Appointment Paperwork Assistance
- Walk agency owners and producers step-by-step through completing the online agent appointment paperwork.
- Follow up via phone and email to collect pending onboarding documents and ensure new agents are fully activated in the system.
3. Call Logging, Quality & Accountability
- Accurate Reporting: Truthfully log call attempts, connect rates, conversation notes, and booked appointments in our CRM.
- Objection Handling & Feedback: Apply sales training and feedback from call reviews to refine your pitch, handle gatekeepers, and navigate objections effectively.
Qualifications & Candidate Criteria
- Communication & "Bedside Manner": Fluent, highly articulate spoken English with exceptional phone presence, warmth, tone control, and rapport-building skills.
- Sales Savviness & Drive: Competitive mindset, strong bounce-back ability, and comfort managing high-volume outbound dialing.
- Uncompromising Integrity: High personal standards of honesty, transparency, and accountability. You take pride in accurate work and honest reporting.
- Coachable & Eager to Learn: Willingness to absorb insurance industry knowledge, implement feedback from spot-checks, and master sales objections.
- Location & Setup: Physical location in South Africa with full availability during US business hours (EST/CST), a quiet home office, high-speed internet, and a reliable power setup.
- Experience (Bonus, Not Required): Previous experience in outbound call centers, appointment setting, cold calling, or B2B sales is a plus—though personality, work ethic, and communication skills matter most.
