About the Company

We are an independent life insurance brokerage operating under the banner of Symmetry Financial Group. We specialize in providing warm-market, high-intent clients with customized life insurance coverage that protects their families and secures their financial futures.

Because our approach centers on trust, personal connection, and genuine human engagement—particularly with mature and older adult populations across the U.S. East Coast—we avoid high-pressure or robotic call-center tactics. We are building a high-performing team to support our expanding client pipeline while maintaining a personalized, consultative experience.

Role Overview

We are seeking an articulate, empathetic, and resilient Appointment Setter based in South Africa to take ownership of our initial prospect outreach.

In this role, you will be the first point of contact for our warm-market leads. Your primary focus will be conducting brief, consultative phone conversations (7–12 minutes) to pre-qualify prospective clients, collect essential personal and medical details, build immediate rapport, and schedule formal policy consultation appointments directly on the broker’s calendar.

Key Responsibilities

Outbound Outreach & Relationship Building

  • Conduct outbound calls, text follow-ups, and emails to warm-market life insurance leads provided through Symmetry’s CRM.
  • Engage prospects in warm, natural conversation—building quick rapport and trust, especially with older demographics.
  • Professionally overcome common initial objections (e.g., "I don't remember filling this out" or "I'm not interested right now" ) without being overly aggressive.
  • Re-engage unresolved lead records within the pipeline to keep opportunities moving forward.

Pre-Qualification & Context Gathering

  • Guide prospects through a structured pre-qualification process covering key insurance metrics:
  • Basic details: Age, date of birth, height, and weight.
  • Tobacco/smoker status.
  • Detailed medical history and current prescription medications (e.g., high blood pressure, cholesterol, generic conditions).
  • Accurately document all health disclosures and nuances so the broker has full context prior to the formal consultation.

Scheduling & Pipeline Maintenance

  • Book qualified prospects directly onto the broker’s live calendar.
  • Send appointment reminders and confirmations via text/email to minimize no-shows and cancellations.
  • Maintain complete and meticulous notes inside the internal Symmetry CRM system.
  • Manage lead dispositions, ensuring consistent and timely follow-up sequences.

Candidate Qualifications

Required Experience & Skills

  • Experience: 2–5 years of proven experience in outbound appointment setting, inside sales, lead generation, or consultative telesales.
  • Communication: Exceptional spoken and written English proficiency with a clear, professional, and agreeable phone presence (strong South African accent profile ideal for U.S. phone outreach).
  • Interpersonal Abilities: Outstanding conversational ability; capable of pivoting between structured qualification questions and organic human connection (e.g., chatting about family, weekend plans, or general life updates).
  • Objection Handling: Strong resilience and tact when dealing with hesitant, guarded, or cautious prospects.
  • Tech Savvy: Comfortable operating cloud-based CRMs, integrated softphones, email systems, and digital calendars.
  • Environment: Self-motivated and disciplined enough to work independently from a quiet home office with reliable internet and hardware.

Preferred Experience

  • Prior experience in life insurance, health insurance, financial services, or Medicare sales.
  • Familiarity with common U.S. prescription medications, medical terminology, and basic health conditions.
  • Experience engaging U.S.-based consumers (specifically in Southern/East Coast regional demographics).

Position Details & Growth Path

  • Initial Phase (Months 1–6): Part-time commitment (~20 hours per week, approximately 4 hours per day, 5 days per week). Allows for pipeline buildup and dedicated focus on quality over volume without burning through lead batches.
  • Full-Time Transition: Opportunity to convert to a full-time position (40 hours/week) after 6 months based on appointment performance, calendar density, and ROI.
  • Lead Quality: Work exclusively with warm-market, high-intent leads generated directly through Symmetry Financial Group.
